port-holes & miles

finishing up my issue of the aug'/06 House & Garden,
two more features catch my eye.

one is a grand hamptons home designed by steven gambrel --

(sorry richard - i know, i know) and i realize, when it comes down to it, 

why i really like ol' s.r.g.. -- 

he loves 

port-holes 

just as much as i do.

i think i'll put a port-hole on the door to my dining room. i like the whole upstairs/downstairs feel of it. that way, el jeffe could look out at me longingly -- just like antonio in

  i am love.

the second feature is a home in miami designed by
miles redd.

i especially love the simplicity of the guest bedroom...
(and the peacock feathers, of course)
